Tin Carnation plays a variety of music, from Funk & Soul to RnB & Hip-Hop. No matter the genre, they aim to provide an energetic live music experience that’s never quite the same twice. These musicians have been playing together for a long time and have a background in Jazz, and therefore love to improvise, jam, and take music in unexpected directions. Founded by California Jazz Conservatory alumni Sam Essex (bass guitar), the band also includes Ezra Player (guitar), Ethan Brandt (trumpet), Kyle Fooks (saxophone), Ian Sylvester (drums), and Kaylan Sykes (vocals). Keep an eye out for guest artists every show, which may include instrumentalists, vocalists, or rappers.
